Clear limits matter when a result could affect someone's livelihood. Here is exactly what ProvenMaker does—and what it does not claim to prove.
What does the free scan actually check?
The no-account scan is a limited preview of a small set of your leading active Etsy listings, not a full-shop audit. The result tells you exactly how many listings were checked. If you create an account and connect Etsy, the initial account scan checks up to 10 additional leading listings that were not already covered by your saved preview.
Which marketplaces can appear in scan results?
We look for product-page matches returned from marketplaces including Temu, AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, Shein, Wish, and DHgate. Search providers do not return every page on the internet, so any scan is a snapshot rather than a guarantee of complete coverage.
Does an image match prove someone copied me?
No. A match means the images are identical or visually very close and gives you a lead to review. It does not, by itself, establish authorship, ownership, authorization, infringement, or which listing came first.
What does a ProvenMaker timestamp prove?
A timestamp records when ProvenMaker received a particular piece of evidence. It helps establish a dated evidence trail, but a timestamp alone does not prove that you created the work. The underlying process evidence is what gives the record meaning.
Is verification automated or reviewed by a person?
Verification uses automated evidence checks and may include human review. Your public verification page identifies whether the result came from the automated pipeline or a named ProvenMaker reviewer.
What is the difference between Free and Protect?
Free includes the initial connected scan, verification, a signed proof packet, and a public badge. Protect adds weekly scans that repeatedly cover leading listings and rotate through the rest of your active catalog over time, plus match history and email alerts.
Will Protect+ file copyright reports for me?
No. Protect+ organizes a seller-confirmed match, your original listing, contact details, and required statements into a copyright report worksheet. You review every field, sign it, and file it through the marketplace as the named rights holder.
What does the verification badge link to?
The badge links to a public verification page showing the current verification state, the maker, the evidence categories on file, the review path, and available cryptographic proof details. It is not an Etsy endorsement or a legal ruling.
Who can see my evidence?
Your original uploaded files are used to provide verification and proof-package features; they are not displayed on the public verification page. Anyone with a public verification or proof-package link can see the maker information and evidence summary shown there. Can I cancel a paid plan?
Yes. Paid plans can be canceled from the billing portal at any time and remain active through the current billing period. There are no annual lock-ins, and your verification, badge, and proof packet remain available on the free plan.
